Why do normal attacks barely hurt Behemoth?

Behemoth has very high physical and magic defenses. Wind and Light are the useful weaknesses; Earth is resisted. Switching from neutral physical attacks to neutral magic alone does not address the elemental opening.

What should you equip before the tower encounter?

Bring working Wind and Light commands, plus recovery that does not depend on a single disabled character. Jake supplies Wind options; Fina and Sakura have Light options. Inspect what your current levels and equipment actually provide before copying a command name from a guide.

Paralysis is a particular concern for the healer. Keep its recovery available on another member as well, so the whole recovery plan does not stop when that healer loses an action.

Read the warning before Meteor

Behemoth’s major attack is Meteor. Use weakness hits to work toward a stagger before that action resolves. Check the timeline before committing the recovery character to another attack.

A practical attempt has three jobs: build the stagger with the right elements, restore the party before the next dangerous action and preserve enough resources to continue after the opening. More neutral damage is not a substitute for the first job.

Change attack type after a warcry

The encounter reference describes physical and magic blocking states. After the physical-blocking warcry, use magic; after the magic-blocking warcry, use physical attacks. Combine that type check with the elemental check rather than changing only one of them.

What if the party still loses?

If damage remains low, inspect the element and current blocking state. If the healer is repeatedly unavailable, address Paralysis. If Meteor resolves with unused recovery resources, reserve the relevant action earlier.

This guide concerns the chapter-8 Crystal Tower fight. It does not establish a guaranteed damage threshold, turn count or independently tested difficulty multiplier. Resume the final-chapter route after the encounter.
