Finding an Ancient component is only the first step

The Ancient item is the input to a Chamber of Arms trial. Obtain it, return to the matching pedestal, win the trial and confirm the restored equipment. The table below connects each component to its acquisition condition and resulting arm.

The chamber is on a mountainous island between Dirnado and Gronoa, reachable with the airship. You may inspect its pedestals for hints, but the cited references do not require collecting every hint before finding the components.

Restoration route

  1. Obtain a component from its listed chest, quest, reward or merchant.
  2. Return to the Chamber of Arms and inspect that component’s active pedestal.
  3. Prepare for the level-50 trial described by both references; heal and save before committing.
  4. Win and inspect the resulting equipment, then record that arm as restored.
  5. Repeat for the remaining components. Keep acquisition and restoration as separate notes.

The later level-75 rematches award enhanced “+” versions. The cited trophy references distinguish those from the twelve standard restorations required for the trophy.

Prepare the treasure radar before scanning the coast

In Gaberada, use the hidden route behind the inn to reach the NPC near the water and obtain the radar upgrade. The Ancient Hammer additionally needs the High-Power Generator from Mt. Reizan. A scanner without the required upgrade is not evidence that a guide’s cove is empty.

For the Ancient Rod, inspect the locked Abandoned Cabin first. Then speak with the man near Sian’s inn to obtain its key and return to the cabin. This trigger order matters.

Budget for the remaining components

Reserve 40,000 gil for the Ancient Cloak and 45,000 gil for the Ancient Tome sold by chapter-8 merchant ships. The Ancient Firearm and Ancient Whip are rewards at 76 and 84 Tablet Shards respectively; collect the corresponding palace chests as well as handing in the shards.

Use the shard location checklist to plan palace pickups, then match the chamber reward. A marked shard, a claimed Ancient component and a restored arm are separate completion states.
