What is the Lake Dorr objective?

Destroy the Orbs of Light, then attack Leviathan during the opening. The orbs interfere with Luka’s song and can return during the fight. Clearing them once is not a permanent removal of the mechanic.

This is the chapter-3 story encounter. Leviathan’s later Esper recruitment is part of Nichol’s Duty, with its own trigger and hand-in. Do not mark the summon obtained simply because the lake battle has ended.

Prepare more than one element

Leviathan is weak to Lightning. Cloud or Tronn can give an available character Lightning access if their relevant commands are equipped. Preserve an available healer and recovery resources for the Water pressure.

The orbs themselves have distinct Fire, Water and Earth affinities in the dedicated encounter reference. Read the selected orb and use the corresponding command instead of applying Leviathan’s Lightning plan to every target on the field.

Repeat the orb-and-opening cycle

  1. Identify the active orbs and clear the interference.
  2. Direct effective Lightning pressure onto Leviathan while the opening is available.
  3. Watch its next action and maintain enough HP for a dangerous Water sequence.
  4. When orbs reappear, return to them rather than assuming their first defeat solved the fight permanently.
  5. Use a reachable Stagger to interrupt a threatening action, then recover or damage according to the current timeline.

The encounter reference warns that an extended fight can become more dangerous. That is a reason to use each opening purposefully, not a promise that one specific turn always ends the attempt.

Where should you go afterward?

Return to Olderion for the scenes, then stay at the inn. Continue to Waterfall Way for the First Water Maiden’s power and follow Amore to Warden’s Cape. The chapter-3 walkthrough explains how that power reveals the Water Shrine route. Flying elsewhere to search for Leviathan’s recruitment marker will not advance this immediate story objective.
