Cross Water Shrine by lowering the water, aligning the movable crates, raising the water again and activating the larger platform mechanisms.

Raise the water again after lining up the crates. Lowering the water lets you move them; the restored water turns the aligned boxes into a floating crossing. A correctly positioned crate is not sufficient while the basin is still drained.
Three mechanisms to tell apart
| What you are looking at | What to do |
|---|---|
| Small glowing water control | Toggle the basin level. Check whether it is currently high or low. |
| Movable crate | Push it while the basin is drained to unblock the route or finish a crossing. |
| Large platform control | Reach and activate it to change the main route through the shrine. |
The large mechanisms and the water controls have different jobs. Repeatedly toggling a water basin does not replace reaching the large pedestal beyond it.
Complete the crate-crossing sequence
- Use the small control near the crates to drain the room.
- Walk onto the exposed floor and push the obstructing crate into line with the other boxes.
- Before refilling the basin, inspect the doorway you have uncovered if you want its optional item.
- Return to the same small control and restore the water.
- Cross the floating boxes to the large pedestal and activate it.
- Revisit the adjoining passage and check which route the mechanism has opened.
What if the route still appears blocked?
Identify the current state before moving anything again. If you can walk on the basin floor, the water is low. If the boxes float but the destination platform is still inaccessible, check whether you reached and activated the large route-control pedestal.
Later rooms repeat the distinction between basin controls, crates and the central platform. Follow the accessible raft boarding prompt and the next large mechanism, rather than assuming one global switch solves every room.
This illustration shows the order of operations, not crate coordinates or a traced floor plan. The guide does not invent a compass orientation for every box.
Before entering the shrine
The story must first resolve the Waterfall Way altar and Warden’s Cape route. If the entrance barrier is still present, return to the chapter-3 objective sequence rather than looking for a hidden crate outside the shrine.
