Aldhafera Trial: Low-HP Targets & Charged Attacks

What do you need before the katana trial?

Obtain the Ancient Katana from the Crystal Tower chest near the Middle Reach airship-entry save point, then use its Chamber of Arms pedestal. The standard reward is Sasuke’s Blade for Lasswell.

Bring Lightning for the opening and Wind or Earth for the next form. Prepare healing, appropriate ailment and death protection, and a physical-defense option. Read your actual equipped commands before entering.

Protect the weakest ally

Aldhafera targets low-HP characters. Heal or defend a threatened ally before its action rather than waiting for that character’s next turn. The opening includes heavy physical attacks and the dangerous Head Hunting warning, which can cause Instant Death.

Its damage reduction grows with the number of attacks taken before its next turn. Favor meaningful individual actions over assuming that a flurry of small hits always produces more damage.

Respond to the charge

1. Use Lightning in the opening while keeping the lowest-HP ally protected.
2. Watch the charge warning and try to interrupt the major attack with an achievable Stagger.
3. Change to Wind or Earth after the form transition.
4. In the charged second form, keep the party healthy before large gauge reductions. The traits report both increased Stagger effectiveness during charging and a warning about cutting the gauge sharply. Do not interpret the charge as a completely safe damage window.

Game8 reports Lasswell level 70 as a condition for the second trial. Treat that as a source-reported access check and inspect the pedestal dialogue if it remains locked. The ultimate reward is Sasuke’s Blade+, separate from the standard restoration objective.
