What is Alluvion weak to?

Use Lightning. Water is ineffective against the Water Shrine version. The Prism Cores share the Lightning weakness, so your prepared element can handle both the boss and its added targets.

Prepare recovery before entering

The available party differs from the usual early-game lineup. Put a healing Vision on a character who is actually available for this encounter; do not assume Fina’s normal healing commands will be present.

Check the equipped command list, restore HP and MP at the save point, and prepare protection or recovery for loss-of-control ailments. The Vision directory helps find an available option; this guide does not require one untested party build.

Fight the core cycle

  1. Start with Lightning attacks while preserving a healing action.
  2. When Prism Cores appear, switch targets and destroy them before they are absorbed.
  3. With the cores gone, return your damage to Alluvion and work toward a Stagger opening.
  4. Spend that opening on damage and Resonance, then resume watching for new cores.

Graceful Deluge becomes more dangerous when cores survive to be absorbed. Ignoring them and relying on a bigger heal later leaves the power-up condition intact. If absorption is imminent and a stagger is realistically within reach, interrupt it; otherwise prioritize surviving the next action.

The large Water attack was overwhelming Clear cores earlier instead of tunnelling on the boss.
No one could heal Reassign a healing Vision before the encounter.
An ally stopped responding to commands Check ailment prevention and recovery.

After the chapter-3 fight, complete the Olderion story scenes. The later chapter-7 rematch is a separate version; this page does not reuse the first fight’s HP or rewards as if they applied to both.
