What works against Belmodar?

Use Rain’s Fire. This is the Earth Shrine encounter before the Mitra sequence grants your first Visions. A guide that requires an awakened Vision or its Resonance is describing equipment you do not yet have.

Check Rain’s MP and the party’s recovery items before the final shrine approach. The soldier near the entrance can restore the party. If you leave to recover, return to the same story objective rather than searching for another shrine key.

Put weakness pressure ahead of ordinary attacks

  1. Have Rain use Fire to work on the Stagger gauge.
  2. Use Lasswell’s available commands to support that pressure, or spend his action recovering an injured ally.
  3. Watch for Thwack and compare the remaining gauge with the actions you have before it resolves.
  4. Once the boss is staggered, use the damage opening while leaving enough recovery for any surviving enemy action.

Thwack can hit the party repeatedly. Do not assume that an ally who survived the previous individual hit is safe from the whole sequence. If you cannot interrupt it, enter the warning with enough HP to recover afterward.

Do not rely on a promised round-two Stagger. Your difficulty, level, equipment and prior actions affect the attempt. The useful check is whether Fire is hitting effectively and whether your recovery action happens before the next threatening attack.

Flame Scrolls found along the early route can give another character Fire access if you have them. They supplement Rain’s command; they are not a requirement to unlock the fight.

Where do you go after winning?

Complete the crystal scenes and travel to Mitra. Investigate the interior door in Rain’s blue-roofed house to obtain Leah and Tronn. Equip them before the castle rescue in the chapter-1 route.
