What is the safest preparation for Gogmagog?

Bring Wind or Light damage and physical protection to Gogmagog Cave in Zoldaad. The entrance recommendation is level 34. Most of its pressure is physical, so a formation built only around Shell overlooks the main threat.

Fina can contribute Light when available while another ally supplies recovery. Equip a buff-removal command if your current party has one; it becomes valuable when Gogmagog strengthens its own attack.

Control the physical damage

1. Apply Protect or a suitable available physical-defense option before the party is already near defeat.
2. Build the gauge with Wind or Light, keeping recovery in the action order.
3. Remove Bravery when it appears. A damage rotation calculated before the offensive buff can leave the next target exposed.
4. Watch Fist of Ferocity, the concentrated physical warning. Break before it if possible; otherwise defend its threatened target and preserve the next healing action.

Why can one ally suddenly take much more damage?

Bonebreaker can lower physical defense. Check the targeted character’s debuffs rather than assuming Protect from the opening still defines their current durability. Repair the defense problem or defend that ally before another heavy strike.

Thwack also pressures the whole party, so healing only the lowest ally may leave the rest vulnerable. Gogmagog additionally has Earth magic; physical protection is the main preparation, not a claim that every move is physical.
