What should your Humbaba party cover?

Bring Wind damage and recovery that survives control ailments to Humbaba Cave in Gronoa. The entrance recommendation is level 55. A second support action is useful because the boss can disable the character you planned to heal with.

Jake can cover Wind when available. Equip ailment prevention on the recovery role and keep an appropriate item available to another active character. The important role split is effective offense plus recoverable support, not four attackers using the same skill.

Respond to the two main warnings

  1. Prepare physical protection and available ailment prevention before Ruthless Rampage. It threatens the party with repeated physical hits and control ailments.
  2. Use Wind toward a reachable Stagger, keeping recovery in the action order.
  3. If Rampage lands, inspect Paralysis, Blind and Silence before trying to reuse the previous turn’s commands.
  4. In the closing phase, watch Revenge Blast. Its damage grows as the boss loses HP, so preserve a break or defensive response for the target.

Why does the fight keep slipping backward?

Humbaba can restore its own HP, while Rabid Claw can cause Confuse and Berserk. Stabilize a controlled ally before assuming their next action will contribute to the plan. Then resume consistent Wind pressure so self-healing does not erase every offensive window.

Do not commit all available actions to damage when a disabled healer is the only recovery route. After confirming victory, restore HP and MP before traveling to the remaining master caves.
