Use Earth and avoid Lightning. The boss at the Mt. Thunderclap exit is not vulnerable to the element in its name. Lid’s Stone gives the party an available Earth command without requiring a late-game Vision build.
Inspect her equipped commands and MP before leaving the mountain save point. If you changed Visions while exploring, confirm that the ability you intend to use is actually selectable.
Respond to the charge warning
Liquid Thunder charges electricity before its major Lightning attack. Build Earth pressure while keeping an eye on the action timeline and the remaining Stagger gauge. A Stagger can interrupt the devastating attack when you can reach it before the warning resolves.
If your next actions cannot realistically break the gauge, spend them preparing to survive instead of assuming a last-second ordinary attack will cancel the charge. Keep recovery on a character whose turn can help after the hit.
Why did your next action disappear?
Megavolt can inflict Paralysis. A recovery plan that relies on the affected character’s next action may therefore fail even when the party still has enough MP. Have an available cure or prevention option and inspect the ailment indicator before queuing another attack.
Use the effective Earth command again once control is restored. Replacing it with Lightning because another character has a stronger Lightning spell does not solve the elemental immunity.
Continue the mountain route
Lid’s paid shortcut changes the climb, not the boss’s affinity. Both the ordinary path and the shortcut can reach this objective. After winning, continue toward Dwarven Forge and speak to Borin; Mom Bomb requires a different element.
The chapter-2 route distinguishes that required forge progression from Ramuh’s optional mountain detour. You do not need to win every available trial before leaving Mt. Thunderclap.
