Return to Mt. Thunderclap’s upper world-map entrance near Zidane’s sanctum, then follow the upper route to the gravestone near the save point. Inspect it to challenge Ramuh. The ordinary mountain story boss is Liquid Thunder; defeating that enemy does not recruit Ramuh.
The easy-path route can also reach this area during the chapter-2 journey. If you took another path, the later upper entrance gives you a return route. You do not need to restart the chapter or assume Ramuh was missed permanently.
Prepare Earth and a protected healer
Ramuh is weak to Earth and nullifies Lightning. Check the actual element on each equipped command. A Lightning-focused loadout that helped elsewhere is ineffective here.
Lid’s learned Earth commands are useful: inspect Stone, Stonera or Mechabo Kick when available. Add another Earth option through an unlocked Vision if your party needs more gauge pressure. Keep healing, magic protection and an applicable Paralysis cure available on a different ally as backup.
What should you do when he readies Thunderspark?
- Establish Shell or another available magic-defense option and begin Earth pressure.
- Watch for the Thunderspark readiness message as the gauge is reduced. The trait ties the special attack to gauge reduction, so do not treat a partial break as a harmless setup.
- If the remaining gauge can be removed before the warned action, commit enough effective Earth attacks to finish the Stagger.
- If the break is out of reach, defend or reinforce the threatened party members, then preserve a recovery action after the attack.
References differ on the precise readiness threshold and target description. This guide follows the visible warning instead of assigning a universal percentage or assuming only one ally needs protection.
Recover from Paralysis and Blind
Megavolt and Thunderspark can cause Paralysis, while Flash can Blind the party. An HP heal does not remove those conditions. Use an applicable cure through an ally who can act; if Blind prevents reliable physical offense, use available Earth magic or restore the attacker first.
The trial victory recruits Ramuh. Confirm the summon before counting him toward Bahamut’s other-eight requirement, then use the Esper directory for the next acquisition.
