What should you bring to the cloak trial?

Buy the Ancient Cloak from a chapter-8 merchant ship for 40,000 gil, then inspect its Chamber of Arms pedestal. The standard reward is Lordly Robes.

Bring physical Wind and magic Wind, ailment prevention and recovery. Earth is ineffective. Jake and suitable learned Vision commands can provide different Wind options; verify the damage type of each command before entering.

What do the mode names mean?

Shaula shifts between physical and magic modes, with shifts becoming faster as it is attacked. In the later form, physical mode nullifies physical attacks and magic mode nullifies magic attacks. The name describes the blocked type; do not automatically match it with your next attack.

Use magic Wind against physical immunity and physical Wind against magic immunity. Recheck the state after a transition instead of repeating a long queue that was valid earlier.

Keep the party functioning

1. Establish ailment protection before committing to offense.
2. Work toward Stagger using a currently permitted Wind command.
3. Watch the form’s major warnings: the standard opening includes Sword Strike and Stonega; later threats include Ferocious Strike and Calamity.
4. Heal and inspect control ailments after a hit. Paralysis, Silence, Sleep or Petrify can disable the support plan even when HP survives.

Wing Dust can strengthen Shaula’s defenses, so use available buff removal when needed. Lordly Robes can help with Alpherg’s Reflect opening after you earn it. The stronger rematch awards Lordly Robes+.
