The Nameless Ruins introduction is scripted; the later chapter-5 confrontation is winnable, followed by a chapter-7 rematch on Forest Path. A scripted early ending does not mean you failed to discover a special item or the correct finishing attack.
The story route and dedicated encounter reference label the end-of-chapter area differently around Tower of Mysidia and the return from Fina’s Psyche. Follow the current objective and actual encounter, rather than reentering the tower solely because a location label differs.
Use Wind, but obey the attack-type call
Tellus is weak to Wind and resists Earth. His current instruction also determines which category of attack is safe:
| Current call | Response |
|---|---|
| Majestic magic | Use magical attacks; physical hits draw the counter. |
| Magnificent martial skill | Use physical attacks; magic breaks the current rule. |
Read the actual message when it changes. A Wind spell and a physical Wind technique share an element but not an attack category. Jake can offer both kinds depending on his available commands, making the distinction practical rather than cosmetic.
Do not ignore Crushing Breath
Keep recovery available while building effective pressure. Crushing Breath is the devastating attack to interrupt with Stagger when reachable. If you cannot break the gauge before the warning resolves, preserve defense and healing rather than committing every actor to the wrong attack type.
Do not copy a guaranteed turn script. The important decisions are the current call, the next enemy action and which commands your party can actually use.
Chapter 7: Forest Path
After Mt. Reizan and Lake Ryusei, Tellus blocks the overland route. Bring current Wind options in both categories and respond to the rematch’s actual call. Do not reuse the first fight’s numeric gauge or damage expectations.
Once the Forest Path encounter and scenes finish, continue to the exit and choose Proceed. The Wandering Lands route then leads to Umbra; there is no additional key for that onward prompt.
