The first two Weapons Factory meetings are scripted; the third is the real boss fight. Let the barrier scenes advance instead of spending rare recovery items trying to overcome them. The winnable encounter follows Lasswell’s barrier-removal event after you complete the factory bridge.
If you have not yet crossed the bridge, use the three-route factory walkthrough. Combat preparation cannot replace lowering its missing sections.
Use Water and prepare recovery
Ignis is weak to Water. Avoid Fire in the winnable factory battle. Nichol provides Water access; check his current command list and MP before approaching the generator. An equipped Vision can provide another option if its command is actually available to the acting character.
Restore resources before crossing the bridge. Choose a character who can heal while your Water attacker is busy, and review protection or recovery for Paralysis. Do not build a plan around every party member being free to attack on every turn.
How does fury change the fight?
Exploiting Water increases Ignis’s fury, making his attacks more dangerous while exposing his defenses. Stagger makes that fury subside. The useful response is to combine weakness damage with Stagger pressure and recovery, rather than avoiding Water and switching to ineffective Fire.
Watch the action timeline. If your healer acts after a dangerous enemy action, spend the preceding opportunity on recovery or protection instead of assuming you can repair the damage later. That is a timing decision based on your current fight, not a fixed round-by-round script.
Respond to Blistering Hellfire
Blistering Hellfire is a party-wide Fire attack that can be interrupted by Stagger. When the warning appears, compare the remaining gauge with your available commands before committing.
- If a Stagger is within reach, use the available pressure to interrupt the attack.
- If it is not, prioritize survival and keep recovery ready afterward.
- Magic protection such as Shell, plus an available healer, is useful preparation for the Fire pressure.
What should you change after a failed attempt?
| Problem | First thing to check |
|---|---|
| Damage appears impossible | Are you still in one of the first two scripted meetings? |
| Fury overwhelms the party | Build toward Stagger while keeping recovery available. |
| The healer loses a critical turn | Review Paralysis protection and who can recover an ally. |
| You are facing Ignis on Mt. Reizan | That is the chapter-7 rematch; use its current information. |
After the factory victory, return to the Rebel Hideout for Jake’s next scene.
Chapter 7: Mt. Reizan is a real rematch
This later encounter is winnable from its actual combat opening. Do not wait for the factory’s barrier-removal scene to repeat. Prepare current Water commands, recovery and appropriate protection before the mountain save point.
Watch the present fury state and devastating-attack warning while building toward Stagger. Use the current gauge instead of assuming the first fight’s numerical break point still applies. If a Stagger is not reachable before the next hit, preserve an available healer and protect the endangered actor.
After the rematch, Alluvion requires Lightning, so change the damage plan again. The chapter-7 walkthrough follows the route through Lake Ryusei and Forest Path; the tornado is still not an invitation to search for a direct airship landing.
