How should you prepare for Jotunn?Manage the gauge and closing phaseIf an ally is disabled or defenses fallSources & reviewHow should you prepare for Jotunn?
Bring Fire or Dark damage, physical protection and buff removal to the level-42 Mysidia cave. Ice is ineffective. The unusual problem is the boss’s response to rapid gauge reduction, alongside a powerful attack that becomes more dangerous as its HP falls.
Rain’s available Fire commands can cover offense. Keep a separate recovery role and a way to restore an ally disabled by Paralysis. A large burst is only useful if the party survives the enemy response around it.
Manage the gauge and closing phase
- Heal before committing a turn that will cut a large amount of Stagger gauge. Its trait warns of a powerful response to rapid reduction; do not assume a nearly broken gauge makes the setup turn harmless.
- Continue effective Fire or Dark attacks while watching the enemy warning and action order.
- Remove the offensive buff associated with Fist of Vigor when possible.
- In the low-HP phase, prioritize stopping Revenge Blast with an achievable Stagger. If it cannot be stopped, defend the threatened ally and leave recovery ready.
If an ally is disabled or defenses fall
Physical attacks can impose Paralysis or lower defense, while Blizzaga adds party-wide Ice magic pressure. Restore control before spending the last available action on damage. Physical protection alone does not cover the entire move set.
No fixed hit count or universal HP threshold for these responses is established here. Follow the active warnings rather than copying a turn script from another difficulty. See all master fights for the next preparation.
