What makes this Olderion cave different?

Malboro Varietas combines Fire weakness with party-wide ailments. Its entrance recommendation is level 45, much higher than the earlier Olderion masters. Reaching the region is not a reason to fight all its caves with the same formation.

Bring available Fire attacks, ailment prevention, recovery items and a protected healer. The boss’s own ailment immunities make a plan based on disabling it with common status effects unreliable.

Prepare before Bad Breath

  1. Apply available ailment protection, such as Light Veil, before the warning resolves. Check that the healer remains covered after other effects consume protection.
  2. Work toward Stagger with Fire. Its trait warns that weakness hits change behavior, so recheck the timeline instead of assuming the opening pattern repeats.
  3. Stop Bad Breath when a break is reachable. Otherwise preserve an active character who can repair the ailments afterward.
  4. After the attack, inspect Poison, Blind, Silence and Confuse separately. Healing HP does not remove those conditions.

How to recover without losing another turn

Restore control of the support role first. A silenced caster cannot execute the queued spell, and a confused ally is not a dependable emergency healer. Use an appropriate item through an unaffected character when needed.

Physical follow-ups and multi-hit pressure remain dangerous after the breath. Do not spend the whole next turn curing while leaving everyone at critical HP; split recovery responsibilities where possible. Confirm the actual victory before marking the all-fifteen objective.
