Bring Protect, reliable healing and Wind damage. Marauder is an optional physical attacker in Grandshelt, with an entrance recommendation of level 15. Finding the cave does not mean your current story party is ready to clear it.
Rain can supply Protect when learned. A Wind command must actually be available through your current party, Vision or Esper; the opening Tronn and Leah pair does not automatically provide one. Do not plan an early clear around a later character or an airship-only sanctum.
A practical battle plan
- Protect the characters who will take the hits, and keep the recovery character able to act.
- Use an available Wind attack to reduce the gauge. If your formation cannot supply Wind yet, use effective neutral attacks or return later with a better loadout.
- Watch Thwack, the party-wide physical warning. Use a reachable Stagger to stop it; otherwise defend before the hit and restore the party afterward.
- Respond to Bravery by prioritizing survival. Do not assume a chapter-1 party already has an enemy-buff removal command.
Why does recovery stop working?
Body Slam can paralyze a character. Keep a usable item or another recovery character ready rather than assigning every emergency action to the same ally. Protect reduces physical pressure; Shell is not the answer to this encounter’s physical move set.
Victory contributes to the Cave Master objectives and awards Magicite Shard progression. Follow the all-master route after the result screen; the cave discovery itself is not a win.
