Salome: Charm, Poison & Perforate

Why is ailment prevention central to Salome?

Allure can Charm the party, taking away the actions you intended to use for healing and damage. Salome’s Mysidia cave recommends level 39. Wind is effective; Earth is resisted. Prepare a recovery character whose ailment protection is already in place before the enemy acts.

Jake can supply Wind when available, but keep a second support option if the offensive character is charmed. The plan should still function when one ally misses a turn.

Battle sequence to aim for

1. Establish an available preventive barrier or appropriate resistance before committing the full party to attacks.
2. Use Wind toward Stagger while keeping HP above the danger created by Salome’s follow-up actions.
3. Watch Perforate, a heavy single-target attack that can also Poison. Interrupt its warning if practical; otherwise defend and preserve recovery for the target.
4. Reassess after Allure or Slap. Cure what your available command can remove and restore control before resuming an unchanged queue.

What should you avoid?

Do not build the plan around putting Salome to Sleep or paralyzing it: the compared enemy entry lists immunity to both. Earth also gives a worse elemental result than Wind.

Bio can spread Poison across the party, so recovery is not finished just because the most visible Charm effect has ended. Inspect remaining status icons and MP before starting the next offensive window. Continue with Jotunn only after restoring the party outside the encounter.
